Omicron's Campus Events

There are many events that the Omicron chapter of Delta Gamma hold every year, which allow members of the Adelphi community to come together and learn about our philanthropy, our sisterhood as well as what it means to be a DG! Listed below are a few of our yearly events.

'Do Good' Week

'Do Good' Week is one of the events that Delta Gamma Omicron hosts during the academic year that supports our Foundation. The week of events includes many interactive tables that allow Adelphi students to participate, as well as DG members. Some of the tables that have been featured in the past include a Bake Sale as well as a "Beautiful Eyes" table, where students donated money to choose who they thought had the most beautiful eyes. A week-long glasses drive also occurs during this time, where students can drop off pairs of glasses that will be donated to the visually-impaired. 

Anchor Bowl

Anchor Bowl is one of our most popular events, because it truly gets the whole campus involved. Anchor Bowl at Adelphi includes a week long competition between the many teams that sign up, which ends in a flag football game to decide that years' winners! Anyone on campus can sign up to make a team and help DG fundraise for our philanthropy. Some of the events that occur throughout this week are "Spot a DG" where teams can earn points by taking pictures with any members of Delta Gamma they see on campus, as well as a Team Captain's Table. 

Friendsgiving

Friendsgiving is an on campus event that all members hold close to heart, because it truly embodies what sisterhood means to us all. Friendsgiving is an event that is open to all members of Adelphi's community, which aims to show what being a DG is really like, and what bonds are formed through our sisterhood. Lifelong friendships are made in Delta Gamma Omicron every year, and Friendsgiving is a way we like to showcase some of those bonds. Also, there's always mashed potatoes served, and you can't ever go wrong with those!

DG Diner

DG Diner is another one of Omicron's events that aim to show the bonds of our sisterhood to Adelphi's campus. When you stop by the DG Diner, you will be greeted by smiling sisters who truly want to get to know you. Feel free to enjoy an ice cream float while chatting as well! 

Anchor Slam

If you want to attend an event where you can play ball while also raising money for a good cause, then Anchor Slam is perfect for you! Anchor Slam is an event hosted by DG that occurs in the Spring, where members of Adelphi's campus can compete to see who the overall champion will be. Teams help raise money by signing up to compete, as well as participating in some amazing raffle giveaways.
